Every year, the NH Region runs an election during the autumn refresher season.  Since we switched to electronic balloting during the COVID year, the region has found that elections no longer need to extend across the entire refresher season.  That voters receive their ballots simultaneously via email notification.  We no longer need to travel to every refresher, managing paper ballots.

The financial savings have benefitted the region, but the time saved for election committee members who no longer need to attend every refresher in the state has been a personal benefit to some of us.  With an electronic election, we can also compress the voting period to 2 weeks.

This year, the NH Region held Section Chief elections for the Southern and Central Sections.  Running uncontested were previous Section Chiefs, although one of them switched from the Northern Section to run for the Southern Section Chief position.  These are the results of the 2025 NH Region Election, which concluded on December 1st:

Running uncontested for Central Section Chief was Scott Jackson of Pat’s Peak.  He received 27 votes with 3 abstentions out of a voter pool of 239 eligible members.  The electronic voting turnout was low, at 13%.

Running uncontested for Southern Section Chief was Chris Pringle of Whaleback.  He received 18 votes with zero abstentions out of a voter pool of 204 eligible members.  The electronic voting turnout was low, at 9%.
