It’s that time of year again! Snow on the Mt Washington summit, Keystone pips A-Basin for CO opening day rights, and the Eastern Division Avalanche calendar is out! All info is now up-to-date on the NH Region calendar and at the links below.
First up is the Eastern Snow & Avalanche Workshop in Fryeburg, ME on Dec 6. Although not an NSP event, it is a great learning opportunity and chance to connect with the local avalanche/backcountry community. Registration is open now at the link below.
This season there are three NSP Level 1 opportunities as well as a Level 2. Registration for all opens on November 26. The first L1 is at Whiteface in New York from Jan 23-26. Here is the Patroller School link:
Next is midweek L1 course at Smugglers Notch in VT from Feb 9-11. Link below:
Later in February from the 19th to 22nd is the Level 2 course back at Whiteface. Check the prerequisites and reach out if you have any questions.
Finally, saving the best for last, the Mt Washington L1 will be held from March 6-8.
