Are you a ski patroller, outdoor enthusiast, or search and rescue (SAR) team member eager to enhance your survival and navigation skills in the backcountry? Or perhaps you're a weekend adventurer seeking the know-how to explore the outdoors safely and comfortably? If so, this course is designed to prepare you for your next adventure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nThis course fulfills an NSP Senior Elective\u00a0 requirement.<\/span><\/p>\nThis course includes one online evening session scheduled for TBD and the outdoor field skills sessions, which includes an outdoor overnight session, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday November 21st and 22nd.<\/span><\/p>\nOur course will be held at Pat's Peak in Henniker, NH.\u00a0 Field skill-building sessions will begin at 9AM on Saturday, 8AM Registration,\u00a0 and continue through to around 3PM on Sunday afternoon.\u00a0 This course includes an overnight camping element and continues straight through to Sunday. An online learning session using one of the NSP Learning systems will cover the details as students prepare and plan for the MTR excursion.<\/span><\/p>\nA few of the topics will include:<\/span><\/h6>\n\n- Map and compass navigation, GPS basics<\/span><\/li>\n
- Wilderness travel<\/span><\/li>\n
- Search and rescue<\/span><\/li>\n
