Description:

This event is an introductory clinic for the Outdoor Emergency Care Senior Program. This clinic will not follow the traditional “on the hill” scenario-based format. Instruction will be conducted indoors within a classroom setting from 9:00 am till noon with an optional skills portion offered in the afternoon.

Learning Objectives:

1. Students will be able to describe the difference between “standard of care” and “standard of training.”
2. Students will learn how to “build” their own 5-6 pt. Scenario.
3. Students will be able to discuss appropriate test-taking strategies freely.
4. Students will be able to describe key points that will be required for a “senior” level skills performance
5. Optional OEC Skills check off session.

The purpose of this orientation event is to prepare students for upcoming Clinics.  NH Region Senior OEC offers a variety of events, including outdoor on-snow scenario-based training. Candidates are encouraged to attend several clinics, where they will have the opportunity to learn from one another and experienced trainers; and have to opportunity to collect signatures for their Senior OEC sign-off sheet.
