Another successful year for senior OEC program.

This year’s events were held at McIntyre, Veterans Memorial Recreation Ski Area (Franklin), Ragged, Pats Peak, Crotched, St Francis School and Sunapee. It takes a lot of volunteers to run this program. Thank you to all patrol directors and staff who made this possible.

Several new Trainers/Evaluators have been added to our program recently; From Sunapee – Gary Galovic & Brian Kossak. From Pats Peak – Brent Fox, Elizabeth Bois and the return of Phil Manseau. From Ragged -Yarrow Farnsworth. All are great additions to an already solid staff of experienced TE’s who continually support this program year after year. Thanks to all.

We were fortunate to have many candidates who stepped up to the challenge of the senior OEC program this year, they committed to the work and accomplished our program goals; improve OEC skills, make better decisions, solve problems, and become a leader. A truly great group that tested our knowledge of the standard of training. They were a pleasure to work with and contributed to our goal “to get better”. Thank you.

Final evaluation was held at Sunapee February 9th. Congratulations to Patrollers who obtained Senior OEC status this year; Aaron Deuell (Ragged), Jim Creighton (Crotched) and Matt Grady (Sunapee).

Special thanks to David Hemendinger assistant to Division OEC Supervisor, Carl Chaplin Region Director, Stef Costello Region OEC Administrator, and Paul Kelly National Board Representative, for their continual guidance and direction.

Sincerely,
Ed Sargent
NH Senior Training Coordinator
