Central and Southern Section Chief Elections will be held this year at the Fall Patrol Refreshers in only the Central and Southern NH Region Patrols.  Nominations for both offices closed at the end of summer and only one nomination was received for each position.  Both section nominations are incumbents and will be running unopposed:

Nominated for Southern Section:  Jeff Hayes, incumbent
Nominated for Central Section:  Deb Brown, incumbent

Jeff Hayes has served one term as the Southern Section Chief and is running for his second term.  Deb Brown was appointed in March of 2017 to fill out the remaining year of Rick Rockwood’s current term.  Rick has resigned from National Ski Patrol and had to give up his office.

Below are platform statements received from the candidates and a Ski Patrol Resume is available for download, look for the links below.  Your vote is important! Please take the time to cast a vote at your Refreshers this autumn, even though these candidates are running unopposed, members will be able to write-in other qualified ski patrollers.

Central Section Chief Candidate Statement from Deb Brown

As a member of the National Ski Patrol for approximately 18 years, with most of that time spent in the New Hampshire Region, I feel qualified to act as the Central Section Chief for the NH Region. I not only patrol in the central section, I also live and work in the region and feel that it would be an honor and privilege to serve the patrollers in this section.

I am very active both at my Primary Patrol (Ragged Mountain) and Secondary Patrol (Mount Washington Volunteer Ski patrol/Tuckerman Ravine) as a Senior Patroller and Instructor as well very active in the NH region as an OEC Trainer Evaluator, Ski and Toboggan Trainer Evaluator, MTR Trainer Evaluator and Women’s Program TE. I also assist with Avalanche Programs within the Region. I am currently being mentored as a level one NSP Avalanche instructor. All of these programs take me outside the region to meet, participate and Instruct in Eastern Division programs such as Patroller Schools and Avy and MTR courses to name a few. I feel that my experience and commitment to my region would serve the central section well and I would be honored to take this knowledge to the patrollers in the CENTRAL SECTION.
